Kids photo session with Jonah and dad. A Norwich-based session where the play just didn’t stop!
Kids Photo Session
Jonah and dad
This kids photo session documented a simple Sunday morning with Jonah and dad as chief ‘play assistant’ for the day. The only premise of the session was that we stay at home and let the ingenious Jonah ‘rock the play’ as only he knows best. And believe me, he certainly does. Jonah (with help from his assistant) left no stone, toy or any other kind of inanimate object left unturned!
Yourself through their eyes
Documentary family sessions can be a beautiful way of documenting the relationship between parent and child. And in the early years of childhood, when everything is moving at light speed, this can be all the more meaningful. To capture, amongst the potties, the discarded toys and the constant new discoveries, something of how your child sees YOU.
As a parent to a two year old myself, I’m fascinated by how definite and complete the role of parent can be (whether that’s ‘play-assistant’, ‘cuddle-master’, or whatever particular job-title they have bestowed on you). And as a photographer and a human, I’m fascinated by seeing this and capturing it in all its myriad forms. It’s one of the most wonderful things to be able to show you a glimpse of what your own wonderful role as parent looks like. It’s beautiful you know. Honestly. Just look at that big-old rock-of-a-dad above and tell me it’s not!
